I have been so fortunate to be able to pursue my passion and do something I truly love. I approach my photography with an inquisitive eye and a sense of fun. I like to start with a simple setting that allows the individual’s unique personality to shine, or highlights the special interactions between family & friends.
Whether capturing the wonder of pregnancy, childhood and families, or promoting a business image or special event, I invite you to share in my vision of creating unforgettable images that show those fleeting moments we want to always remember. - Karen
I believe in giving back to my community by volunteering my time and talent to a variety of worthy causes:
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org) provides a means of healing for families overcome by the grief and pain of early infant loss. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this non-profit organization. Affiliate photographers volunteer their time and provide digital black and white images to the family to begin their healing in this difficult time.
Tohono Chul Park (www.tohonochulpark.org) is a wonderful local botanical garden that “enriches people’s lives by connecting them with the wonders of nature, art and culture”. As a park member, I enjoy photographing at many of the events, especially their “Bloom Night”. One of my Queen of the Night images was featured on the front of their calendar.
Project Graduation (www.cdoprojectgraduation.com) is a nationally recognized, all-night, safe and memorable celebration offered at Canyon del Oro High School for graduating seniors. From photographing the announcement of the themes to documenting the participants in the golf tournament fund raiser and photographing the evening festivities, I have joined many volunteers that come together to make this a successful event.
